The 90-Day Implementation Path

Adapt the pace to the risk, workload and cycle involved.

Phase 1 — See clearly

Complete the Two-Week Test, build Version One of the Functional Map, circle no more than three areas of attention and choose one recurring point of friction.

Phase 2 — Establish ownership

Name one accountable owner, agree their authority boundary and exception path, and record who acts when they are absent.

Phase 3 — Organise the smallest useful route

Complete the MVS Canvas. Use the Handoff Card if work crosses functions. Keep one canonical record and define complete before automating.

Phase 4 — Strengthen through use

Pilot on live work. Inspect what was ignored or misunderstood. Simplify with users, retire the obsolete route and review one primary signal.

At the end, update the same Functional Map. Do not create a new map for every problem.
